Okudo tomae #1114
This solid stone has a low area on the back that you can see in the
photos in the area where my inventory number is painted in, and this low
area runs down the edge of the back to nearly the opposite end. A stone in
one of my favorite colors, the fact of the undercutting reflects the price of
the stone. There are years and years left in this stone and it will only get
thinner at the edge.
The grain pattern is similar to the Nakayama mine with the cloudy or
foggy pattern, and the kawa skin colors are similar too. This is a hardness
level 5 that is perfect for razors, and I have tested this stone with a german
razor and shaved from the razor with perfect results.
The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and
edges beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a
money back guarantee minus the return shipping.
