#232 Shobudani Suita
Classic Old School sunashi suita. The Shobudani has very generous proportions
and will make an excellent bench stone for tools, but maybe too good
and fine for knives. With a modest hardness rating of 5++ it will not self slurry
but at the same time has lots of grab for even the hardest steels. The are only a
few "su" ancient gas voids and they are super fine. Very fast cutting and grit
rich I would describe this as a professional grade stone.
The ink stamps on the face read down the upper center,
SHO HON YAMA SUITA (true pure mountain suita) and
to the upper right and down the right center reads the same,
SAI KYO KYU HIN (Super Best Quality)
and the lower right corner
TO KYU JO (Very Best)
The stone (toishi) has been lapped flat and the corners and
edges beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a tested
and appropriately sized tomonaguara slurry stone, and a money back
guarantee minus the return shipping.
