Narutaki asagi tomae #326
This stone is from my private reserve, and it is one of the purest stones that I have ever
owned and came from a large collection of barber hones that I bought a few years ago. The
sides and a portion of the back are sealed in lacquer and under the glaze in ink is written
Naurtaki. An old mined stone with a true rich green asagi color (a bit greener than the photos
show), this stone is an example of the epitome of Umegahata tennen toishi.
Handling this stone, you first notice how dense it is in the hand, and next you think, Oh this is
too smooth to be a sharpening stone. Well this is a sharpening stone of a certain class that
are dedicated from the mine as kamisori toishi used by barbers or surgeons for honing
The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges beveled unless
otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a money back guarantee minus the return
shipping. This stone will be shipped with a tested tomonagura slurry stone.
