This is a super suita stone. I do not know what mine it came from but
if I did I would buy stock in it. The stone cuts the hardest Japanese
kanna blade hagane steel and leaves it with a lovely soft chrome finish.
Only a hardness level 5+ stone, it will work perfect with just clear water which
leaves jet black swarf pooling in clear water, or with a slurry the black develops
with the first stroke It is full of ancient gas voids, has lots of black renge and
flashes of red renge. All of the inclusions are solid and none of them wrap
around the stone. A couple of corners are missing and the price reflects these
factors. This stone should be sealed on the sides or I can seal if for you
before I send it.
The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and
edges beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a tested
and appropriately sized tomonaguara slurry stone, and a money back
guarantee minus the return shipping.
