#547 Unknown mine kiita
This broad kiita stone is very smooth, super fine and a medium fast cutter in
the hardness in 5+ range. The stone is more yellow under water but in general
the coloration is muted and dull looking.
I honed a Hecklels Friodur razor having a 1,000 King bevel set and with sets
incorporating a diamond plate generated slurry I found a perfect shave including
against the grain passes after 42 straight on passes on the stone followed
by 30 or so circular strokes with a fresh diamond nagura slurry followed by 20
strokes with a tomonagura slurry and about 30 strokes on clear water until suction
kicked in and then leather/linen stropping.
I do not know which mine it is from, there are tiny areas of darker clays that you can
see in the photos that do not affect the use of the stone in any way.
The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges beveled
unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a tested and appropriately sized
tomonaguara slurry stone, and a money back guarantee minus the return shipping.
