Okudo gray tomae #614
This gray Okudo stone is very hard in the 5++ range, stingy in giving up slurry even when
using a diamond plate, which makes it an excellent platform for use with a diamond
plate, tomo nagura or white Aichi/Mikawa generated slurries.
There is one small area that you can see the photos on the top surface near the left hand
corner that looks light colored. This is a spot of bias layering that creates a bit of
roughness on the surface. Seen from the side it looks shallow and superficial but you
never know how deep it is or where it will appear again. The stone is discounted
because of this flaw however minor it might be and the fact that one corner is clipped and
the stone gets narrow at that end.
The toishi has been lapped perfectly flat, the sides dressed and the corners and edges
beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a money back guarantee
minus the shipping.
