Nakayama natural combo tomae #633
A totally rare and naturally occurring unique combination stone with green asagi tomae
on one side and an o-mizu tomae on the other. I have had small samples of this type of
stone but this is the largest full size stone so far. With the famous Nakayama foggy or
cloud patten the stone has no inclusions of any kind, each side is equally fine and will
hone up most any razor to the maximum sharpness. Slightly more narrow by 5mm at one
end the two tops have been lapped and polished to a very fine finish. The sides have
also been lapped and polished. A very dear stone to be sure this toishi will come with
two tested tomonagura slurry stones.
The YouTube video linked above shows this stone being used with TheAxMethod, a
diminishing stroke count method that for test purposes uses a slurry made from the
base stone itself. The end results can be improved upon with more advanced techniques
like weight of the razor strokes, tomonagura generated slurry, clear water strokes or even
a faint micro bevel addition. In this particular video I probably tried to do too much in such
a short length of time.
The toishi has been lapped perfectly flat, the sides dressed and the corners and edges
beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a money back guarantee
minus the shipping.
