#655 Okudo hard gray tomae
A good hard gray tomae with cloudy grain pattern similar to the
Nakayama stones. It is pure from front to back and if you wanted to
you could lap the back to make a double sided hone. The only
problem with this one is that to the upper left corner near the
patch of kawa skin is a bit of bias layering that you can see and also
a bit of the same over towards the right center portion. These
areas are out of the mainstream honing area but they must be noted.
Number 655 would be a good stone for finishing razors with water
only, a Mikawa Nagura slurry or a slurry made with a fine diamond plate.
The stone (toishi) has been lapped flat and the
corners and edges beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my
stones come with a tested and appropriately sized tomonaguara
slurry stone, and a money back guarantee minus the return shipping.
