Hard handsome mizu tomae. This stone has hints of blues and grays in a classic foggy
or cloud pattern along with a super bright kawa skin on the back. There are a couple of
areas on the top side that show a alternate direction bias grain that you can feel with your
thumb nail, but I do not think that they will present any problem because the stone is so
compact in structure. But I am discounting the stone because of this alternate bias grain.
This stone could be used as the final stone for tools because it is large enough.
I have honed a razor from this stone using TheAxMethod with a slurry generated with a
diamond plate, and this stone is loaded with grit and fast. I got HHT4 and 5 results after a
minimal 20 pass stropping, and the shave was smooth, close and comfortable.
