Okudo tomae #819 Nice example what I call a transitional stone, one who's binder color changes in the stone somewhere in the middle. This one goes from a rich asagi to a deep mizu gray/blue color. The grit stays the same but the clay binder material is different. The general overall hardness will also stay the same because that has more to do with compression of the stone in the ground than anything else. This is a super fine level 5+ stone and the hardness level is 5++ making it an ideal razor hone. I have honed a razor on this stone and shaved with it with close comfort. The stone (toishi) has been lapped perfectly flat and the corners and edges beveled unless otherwise noted. All of my stones come with a money back guarantee minus the return shipping. This stone will be shipped with a tested tomonagura slurry stone. |
